Looking back at my resolutions from last year which were supposed to be full proof, I have to say I’m a little disappointed in myself. I actually forgot what they were until I looked at them just barely.
I’m not disappointed that I didn’t accomplish any of them though, because last year was full of many wonderful adventures.
Not having done any of them really helps with making resolutions for this year though. I still want to accomplish all of those things and then some. So these are the goals I have for this year (including some new ones):
1. Read the unread books on my bookshelf.
Sadly I didn’t really read many books last year. I read more comics and graphic novels than plain text books (but those were still great reads). I had to cancel my two book subscriptions to help save money as well as I hadn’t finished many of the books I got so I’m making sure to read the books I have before buying too many others.
2. Watch everything in my Netflix Queue.
I guess I could be optimistic in saying that Netflix keeps getting rid of things in my queue, but then I find new things to add. I want to make sure I get our queue dwindled down so we don’t have too many things to go through when trying to decide what to watch. I will say though that this is the goal that I’ve done the best at and have actually finished quite a few great series and movies from my queue.
3. Lose baby weight (and then some).
I haven’t really gained or lost any weight. I was pretty excited that I’ve been able to fit into some pre pregnancy jeans with no issue, but I’d still like to get more healthy and lose some weight. I may get in trouble for saying this but Sean gained a little bit of sympathy weight from my pregnancy so he and I will be working to lose some extra weight. (In his defense, he’s actually still pretty skinny).
4. Go on a trip
This goal before was to go for our 5th anniversary. The anniversary came and went without a trip but we are still hoping to take a belated one at the same time as celebrating Marvel’s 1st birthday. At this point though, I’d really just like to take a trip. My wanderlust is acting up and it’s been too long since we’ve been anywhere outside of Utah.
5. Blog on a regular basis (and more).
I’ve actually done a lot better than I thought I would have done on this one. My 30 day blogging challenge really helped too. I’d like to do better at posting more often rather than in bursts.
I started a blog to work on our budgeting goals over at Budgeting Adventures, so I’d like to make sure I keep that blog up with posts as well.
With both of my blogs, I’m going to work on being more active on social media and making sure I can share some great quality content with my readers. I’d also like to grow my readership and viewers as I love to share what I have with others.
I don’t want to let myself be disappointed again next year, so here’s to hoping that this is my year to get these things done!
What resolutions do you have for the year? Did you get any of yours done last year?
